Overview

Dapoer Pandan Wangi - Dago stands as a noteworthy culinary spot nestled in the heart of Bandung, specifically on Jl. Dago No.356. This Sundanese-style restaurant draws both locals and tourists alike, eager to indulge in authentic regional flavors. With its inviting open-air indoor design, the space balances comfort and a casual atmosphere, accommodating families and groups seeking a genuine taste of West Java cuisine.

What truly sets Dapoer Pandan Wangi apart is its dedication to Sundanese tradition, evident in its wide array of dishes. The Terong Raos is highly praised—a unique, slightly sweet, and crispy eggplant dish that captures the essence of the local palate. Complementing this is the fragrant Sambal Dadak, a freshly made chili condiment that enhances any selected protein. Most patrons gravitate towards pairing these with Nasi Liwet, a richly flavored rice cooked with coconut milk and spices, forming the cornerstone of the dining experience here.

The restaurant’s reputation for quality food is supported by consistent positive feedback on taste and portion variety. Signature grilled and braised chicken dishes such as Ayam Bakar and Ayam Ungkep receive high marks for their well-balanced marination and tenderness, while traditional sides like Tumis Genjer and Ceker add authentic touches, although some guests suggest slight improvements in serving temperatures.

Despite its popularity leading to busy queues, the venue manages to maintain order with a systematic waiting number system. Service is highlighted as friendly and prompt, although occasional delays have been noted. The spacious basement parking is a practical perk for visitors, ensuring accessibility in a bustling city area.

A few points to consider include the restaurant's smoking area, which doubles as the waiting lounge, an aspect that may affect non-smoking patrons’ comfort. Additionally, some newer menu items such as Bandrek and Sayur Asem have room for refinement, particularly in temperature and flavor depth. The snack corner, while intriguing, tends to be positioned at a premium price point.

In summary, Dapoer Pandan Wangi - Dago offers an immersive Sundanese dining experience rooted in tradition and quality. Its location in Dago, a vibrant part of Bandung, makes it an accessible destination for anyone seeking a hearty, well-crafted regional meal. Whether it's a casual family outing or a cultural tasting journey, this restaurant delivers a memorable encounter with West Java’s rich culinary heritage.

There's a waiting queue, full of tourists and local people kind of crowded place here, make sure to wait and pick waiting number. Order the signature dish like Terong Raos, Sambal Dadak, with any protein you like with Nasi liwet (Liwet rice). Good place, good food, good taste. I attached the menu if you wondering the foods and prices, I thinks it's fair enough. Thanks

The newest outlet of Pandan Wangi. It's spacious and still full as usual. Food is as good but service is quite slow. Their waiting area is a smoking area, which is inconvenient for ones who don't smoke because it's inside the building! The bandrek that I ordered was not nice, cold and tasteless. Sayur asem is cold too. Hope they can improve it moving forward. Their snacks corner is interesting but super expensive!

We went here during lunch time. It was busy, but we were seated right away since we called and made a reservation for a table of 12. The food was very good and the price was reasonable here compared to Jakarta. We liked all that we ordered. Ayam bakar and the gurame bakar is good. Terong Raos, daun pepaya, all was good. Overall, you can't go wrong with the food here. The atmosphere in this place is good too, and service was quick. I would highly recommend a visit if you are visiting and looking for Indonesian food here!
